Welcome to my official web site, UK Rock Guitarist Craig McDonald. Probably best known as Guitarist and founder member of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) band SINNER I played alongside the likes of Iron Maiden, Saxon and Samson back in the day. That was a long time ago of course and a lot of notes have streamed out of my trusty Stratocaster since then. Currently I am devoting all my time to the singing and guitar duties in The Clan.
The Clan was formed following the release of my most recent solo album entitled "Pies, Pasties and Rock 'n' Roll" which was released during 2010.
In order to promote the album live I assembled a band initially called Craig McDonald's Clan.
Bass Player and good friend Steve Farquhar who played on the album was the obvious choice for the live band however the drummer on the album , Clive Cresswell, declined to be involved in the live work due to other committments. After a thorough search we were extremel;y pleased to welcome drummer Jim Coucher into the trio and we've never looked back.
The name has now been shortened to the simpler "The Clan" - A tight three piece no frills guitar band.
"The Clan" play music from my album plus a number of choice cover versions as required.
This is the most up to date site for my news and the best place to be for gig listings, downloads, videos, merchandise, contact details and generally anything else.
Hope you enjoy it and my music,

Review from classic rock - Craig McDonald was a founder of NWOBHM band Sinner. Now the guitarist is out on his own with Pies, Pasties And Rock ‘N’ Roll. The title says it all. This is pub rock, riding along on a blues rock tandem. Entertaining in its own right, you have to feel that McDonald is best served in a live environment.
